The OSHA Part 1904 Recordkeeping Standard gives employers a powerful way to make their workplaces safer, by tracking the illnesses and injuries that occur in their facilities. Using the forms that OSHA provides in the Standard, companies can identify the safety problems that they need to address. This information also helps OSHA modify existing regulations, or create new ones, so that employees across the country can work more safely.
MARCOM's "OSHA Recordkeeping for Managers and Supervisors" training products discuss the recordkeeping process and what managers and supervisors need to do to comply with the regulation.
All of the products... our original DVDs and full-length online courses as well as the new "Micro-Learning" and "Adaptive Learning" courses... discuss topics that are integral to employees' understanding of these issues.
Topics covered in these products include:
- The importance of recordkeeping.
- What businesses are exempt.
- Defining "injuries and illnesses".
- Work-related illnesses/injuries and new cases.
- The three key recordkeeping forms.
- Employee rights under OSHA's Part 1904.
- Other recordkeeping issues.
- and more.
These products can be used in conjunction with MARCOM's training products on "OSHA Recordkeeping for Employees" to train workers on all levels and provide them with a common base of understanding about OSHA's recordkeeping requirements.
All "OSHA Recordkeeping" products are available in English and Spanish.

Adaptive Learning
“Adaptive Learning” takes advantage of an employee’s existing knowledge to create training courses that are customized for that employee, and don’t “reteach” them things that they already know. In other words, the Adaptive Learning process determines what an employee already knows about a topic, then structures courses that contain only the information that the employee needs to complete their knowledge of the topic.
These individually customized courses eliminate the largest employee complaint about safety training (“I already know most of this stuff, so why do I have to go through this training again?!”), while potentially recapturing thousands of hours of lost productivity.
MARCOM’s Adaptive Learning courses test employees before they take the course. Then based on the questions that they answer correctly, the course itself determines if the employee knows enough about the information in each chapter in the course to “test out” of that chapter… and if they do, automatically reconfigures the course to skip those chapters.
Reconfiguring the courses in this way typically saves about 50% of an employee’s time in taking a course. Over a year’s time this can recapture a significant amount of lost productivity time for a company of any size, and result in hundreds of thousands of dollars of annual savings.
