MARCOM was born from the idea that training should be high quality, user-friendly, thorough, concise, and affordable. For over 40 years, we've been living up to that promise.
Today, MARCOM is one of the leading producers of Safety, Regulatory Compliance and Human Resources training products.
All MARCOM courses are developed fully in-house by our own staff. Our process starts with thorough research and writing original scripts. Then our producers film and edit the programs using our on-site sets as well as real-life work environments. Finally, we exclusively distribute our products through reliable reseller partners.
At MARCOM, we believe in continuous innovation and growth. The world is ever-changing, so we must be too. We pride ourselves in offering accessible, relatable courses for the "every day" worker. We regularly update our courses with new information and visuals. As we continue to grow, we are determined to prioritize quality and customer satisfaction.
All workers deserve to have the information that they need to stay safe and work productively. So we are currently working hard to produce a multilingual course library consisting of 6 languages in addition to English. And our online courses are fully WCAG 2.0 Level AA compliant to ensure that they are as accessible as possible.
President and Founder
Don founded MARCOM in 1984, after realizing that there were no materials available to help companies comply with the employee training requirements in OSHA’s new Hazard Communications Standard. To meet that need, he created an 8-part video series on the Standard and how to work with hazardous chemicals safely… and the company was off and running.
Since those early days, Don has directed the company’s growth from its original three people to its current group of 23… and through multiple training delivery formats, from the original videotape programs to the company’s industry-leading online Adaptive Learning courses. He also pioneered the concept of a “reseller-centric” marketing model, eventually disbanding the company’s direct sales force and establishing marketing partnerships with companies that could reach large groups of potential customers with MARCOM’s courses.
Don continues to develop new and innovative ways to provide employees with the information and training that they need to work safely and productively in today’s ever changing work environment… and work with MARCOM’s marketing partners to make those materials available to as many workers as possible.
Vice President of Finance and Administration
Ann is Executive Vice President and Co-Owner of MARCOM, where she has played a pivotal role in scaling the company from its early-stage foundations into a thriving, established enterprise. Partnering closely with Don Leonard, she operates at the intersection of strategic planning and operational execution—aligning the company’s mission with long-term growth objectives to ensure MARCOM remains resilient, mission-driven, and consistently on target with its financial and organizational goals. Her lifetime of dedication to Marcom has been a driving force in shaping the company into what it is today.
Ann also led the transformation of MARCOM’s internal infrastructure, formalizing administrative, HR, and financial functions and establishing strong processes for risk management, legal coordination, and accounting. Today, this foundation supports a dedicated team of 23 employees and provides the logistical and financial framework required to turn MARCOM’s long-term vision into a tangible reality.
Vice President of Operations & Partner Success
With more than three decades at MARCOM, Jen started in 1991 as a receptionist and over time grew into her current leadership role. Along the way, she has been instrumental in shaping how the company operates today.
When MARCOM shifted from direct sales to a reseller model, Jen built the Reseller Services Group from the ground up, turning it into a core part of the company’s business. She later took on responsibility for MARCOM’s product development activities as well, bringing teams together that produce the high-quality eLearning courses that have driven the company’s growth.
Her dedication to customer service and satisfaction has played a key role in MARCOM’s continued success and strong partner relationships.
